Our Workshops
Informed & Empowered
These sessions improve children and young people's knowledge and understanding of their rights, provide a safe space to share experiences, and identify techniques that can be used to confidently and safely navigate stop and search encounters.
Rights, Responsibility & Welfare
We recognise that it is not enough for only children and young people to know their stop and search rights. These sessions aim to strengthen the vital role parents, caregivers, and professionals play in supporting and safeguarding children. They equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage in sensitive stop and search conversations with children and young people.
Transparency and Accountability: Independent Observers & Active Citizens
Everyone has an active role in promoting public safety, ensuring police accountability, and creating socially cohesive communities. These sessions empower people to record and report any worrying police interactions they see. They equip the public with the knowledge and confidence to support people experiencing a police encounter.
Community Scrutiny
External community-led scrutiny plays an essential function in ensuring police accountability. People, especially those impacted by over-policing, should be encouraged to participate in civic spaces. Committed to strengthening the capacity of community scrutiny mechanisms, UNJUST designed this series of engaging workshops to support the learning and development of panel members.
