Consultancy

With extensive experience in challenging racial discrimination within policing and proposing evidence-based solutions, UNJUST has been contracted by public sector bodies, civil society organizations, community groups, and academic institutions to contribute to a range of bespoke projects.

In 2022, UNJUST was commissioned by Black Thrive Global to contribute to a project, funded by the Wellcome Trust, exploring the relationship between police use of stop and search powers and young people’s mental health and well-being.

UNJUST worked as an external consultant on the TASERD project, an academic research project that aims to identify and examine the causes of the racial disparity in police use of a taser.

We also collaborated with a group of senior parliamentary staff, MPs and Lords to conduct a Pass Review. The Pass Review followed a report published by ParliREACH; a workplace equality network that highlighted that Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority staff, MPs and Lords are disproportionately stopped and asked for identification by security staff.
